Welcome to Nania's homepage. We are a small Kindergarten based on Steiner's education method, in Penang, Malaysia, a small warm island in a great big world. Kung Wai (my husband) and I started Nania in April 1997. Although it is in Malaysia, our home based kindergarten has been mostly full of Japanese children for the last years. I am so fortunate to have met and continue to meet so many wonderful children and famililes since Nania was started. Over the days the children are at Nania, they learn, play together and made good friends. Friendship has also grown between families, the mothers and I..

This website is a space to share events and developments at Nania as well as for families and friends to exchange information and discuss child care/education issues. It is also a place for friends and families who have left Penang island to keep in touch. Many of the Japanese families have since returned to different parts of Japan. It is wonderful that we can still keep in touch. In the new house we are moving to in Jan. 2002, we will have a class for non Japanese children. We are therefore making this site to be bilingual (as much as we can). I am so happy the English speaking families and friends can now join us.
