Introduction

We cannot replace essential play activity for young children during their tender age, in later years.
The inner quality of the child under seven, is one of wonder and reverence. Young children believe in the goodness of the world and put faith and trust in the people close to them. During their tender years, children develop and learn about their surrounding through imitation. They also have a lot of will forces and want to do things. They want to build houses, take care of dolls, cook and etc.

An important part of preshool child education, is creating an enviroment in which, children can play creatively. It is equally important to provide a setting which is worthy of imitation. As young children are intimately linked with the way other people think, feel and act, we adults have to be good models for children to imitate.

At Taska Nania, we set the place to resemble a home with lots of simple toys of natural material. Creative play required that the child be active not just in their limbs but also in their fantasy forces within. The simpler the toy or play material, the more the child cultivates his own imagination. Creating different worlds and action, out of logs, cloth, stones, shells and etc.

It may seem strange to put emphasis on something as basic as play. But because creative play is basic to the life of children, it needs to be nurtured, just like their bodies need to be fed.

The more creatively children play when they are young, the more they grow in a healthy way. Playful children tend to be more harmonious in their feelings and less aggressive towards others. Creative play also strengthens imagination, enabling children to be quick and eager to learn. Those who play creatively prepare themselves to become good scholars and well balanced people.

Rhythmic life of Taska Nania

Children's inclination to imitate is one of the keys we work with at Taska Nania. They learn things naturally through their whole being, through repetition. We also recognise rhythm as important for the child's body and soul. Music and artistic activity weave through each other in the daily life at Taska Nania.

Children will experience a comforming expanding and contracting daily rhythm. They will be introduced to a host artistic activity, stories, songs and movements through a familiar but different weekly and yearly routine.
